What I Wore Wednesday ~ Introducing Stitch Fix

Happy Wednesday friends! By now you might be getting used to this “What I Wore Wednesday” thing. I’m having some fun with it and enjoying seeing the different styles that you’re all sporting around the web! Make sure that you click on over and check it out over at The Pleated Poppy.

So have you all heard of StitchFix? If you haven’t, here’s the scoop: It’s super fun to try. Just go to their website and sign up. Once you’ve signed up, they invite you to fill out a style profile. Once you’ve done that, you can schedule your first “fix.” A fix consists of a box filled with 4-6 pieces of clothing or accessories custom picked  by a Stitch Fix stylist just for you and mailed to your doorstep. It’s kinda like Christmas every time you get to open a fix. You simply pay a $20 styling fee when you schedule. Wait for your fix to arrive and simply keep the pieces that you love and send back the ones that you don’t in the postage paid envelope. Your $20 styling fee is applied toward your purchase too– so as long as you find one thing that you want to keep, you aren’t out a thing! It’s absolutely dress-up for grown-ups. Yay!

This fix was my first since before Christmas and my size has changed a bit, so I think that it threw the fit of a few things off. I’m right on the edge of two sizes and it’s making me sorta crazy. But…ehh…it’s ok. Without further ado, here goes. {I’m only sharing three of my fix items. The other two shirts just didn’t work well this go-around.}

Stitch Fix Peach Polkas

In theory, this shirt was everything that I asked for. Polka dots. Peach. Summery. But…I don’t know. It was just lackluster. And it didn’t fit quite right. So I passed on this one. {my face says it all}

Stitch Fix ColorBlock Dress But this dress…I adore! And the bracelets too {even though I passed on the bangles…I don’t like to splurge on accessories, unless adorable AND multipurpose– I don’t feel like I would put the bangles to lots of use}

Back From the Abyss…

Somewhere in the midst of our “quick and easy” move I’m almost positive that I was sucked into the black hole that is also known as “home renovations.” They swallowed me right up, and I’m honestly a bit amazed that I’m even surfacing to type up this little post. What I thought was going to be a quick and easy “they-do-this-in-two-days-on-HGTV” remodel is not quite so quick or easy in actual reality. Now I’m stuck with a truckload or “before” pictures and I’m afraid that it will be November before I can post “afters.” Sniff. Sniff. Sniff. But just in case the suspense is killing you, here’s another shot of the kitchen in progress. (It’s a little more functional than that now!)

Our Kitchen Update In Progress

Oh well. I am a mommy to two precious littles who still need my time and attention (and I don’t mind that one single bit)! Jeremy still works full time and now spends his weekends and evenings doing things like replumbing, reframing, painting, installing bead board, etc. And the kids, they’re technically as happy as clams (and really, are clams happy?! who knew?) in our new neighborhood with a lot of new found freedom to enjoy childhood in the way that all kiddos should– building forts, riding bikes, hiking in the woods, climbing trees. It’s pure wonderful.

And how could I forget the highlight of summer thus far? Being a part of my cousin-sisters (We’re both only children so we were close– our kiddos call the other one “aunt.” How’s that for confusing?) labor and birth. She and her husband have an oh-too-cute little guy who is a year and a half old and they welcomed this sweet little princess into our family! Oh how I love her.

Things will likely remain quiet on the blogging front until school starts in August. In a couple of weeks the kids and I are headed off to Disney World with my parents for eight days. I am giddy excited (probably for sure more excited than either of my two peas). Once we’re back life will revolve around preparing my heart and my head for both of my children being in school full-time. It almost makes me start crying to just type it out, so I’ll stop there before I become a basket case.

It’s just a part of the process, right? I’m looking so forward to the down-time, but I still feel like somehow it means that life has moved much much much too fast. I wouldn’t mind one bit if you prayed for us oodles as we move into this new season. ;)
