Good morning!
Over the past few months, I’ve heard from a few of you that while you would LOVE to sew, that you’re just not quite sure where to begin. While I thought that I would be super ambitious and put together a sort of “sewing for newbies” {of which I am not far removed} tutorial, the lovely Raechel Myers from the blog Finding My Feet beat me to the punch and just announced her Sewing 101 online series. I was so thrilled about it that I wanted to send you all over to her blog to check it out!!!
Over the next four weeks Raechel is going to walk us through the basics of sewing. Together we will finish a great little market bag. You’ll need to order the pattern if you’re going to follow along with the stitching {and believe me, you’ll want to}! You can order the pattern here for just $5 or here.
Today is Day #2 of her series {#1 below is just the introduction}, but don’t worry…you can very quickly read through and catch up! Here are the links to get you up to speed:
1. Sewing 101- registration and syllabus
2. Sewing 101- tools of the trade
3. Sewing 101- know your machine
That should get you all on track! Rachel runs such an adorable blog and in general just seems to be an all-around precious person. Hopefully one of these days we’ll have the opportunity to meet!
For now, let’s just show her a little blog lovin’ and join in this nifty series! Whether you’ve never even touched a machine or you’ve been sewing for years and years, it’s always great review the basics– you never know, there’s always something new left to learn!
Have a fantastic Wednesday!
