Pattern Testing for Violette Field Threads Emmaline Misses {& a giveaway}

A few weeks ago I about fell out of my chair when Violet Field Threads extended me the opportunity to pattern test their newest offering for women prior to its release. I’ve been swooning over their kids patterns for the longest time. They are sophisticated and fun. Without fail, their designs just add a dash of class to the pattern making world and in doing so, they fill a void in the sea of children’s patterns. Apparently {and with much jumping and shouting hooray over here} they have finally opted to usher in that same chic style for us women too! Meet the Emmaline Misses Maxi Dress– a big {her} version of their wildly popular children’s Emmaline dress. Amazing!

Emmaline Womens by Violet Field Threads

In keeping it all top secret, I had to make and then take photos of myself in the dress. Only it kept raining. And raining. And raining. One evening he sun briefly peeked out from behind the clouds, but Jeremy was gone, so I grabbed the tripod and ran out back. I can only imagine that the neighbors thought I was crazy sauce. And no…I didn’t think that I was Cinderella {see pic of me holding my skirt}, I just kept running back and forth to the tripod holding it up because of the wet ground and I sort of forgot to drop it. Oops! Gotta make it work, right? Anyhow, I chose a simple aqua knit for the dress and pulled a cream and strawberry-melon-ish striped cotton for the binding and the tie. Your color and fabric options are endless. I also opted to only add one ruffle because I thought that with the knit more layers would feel too bulky. Now, who wants to win an Emmaline pattern of their very own? Just enter by participating in the RaffleCopter below. The giveaway will close on Friday, May 3, at 11:59pm. Winner will be announced over the weekend! Enjoy!

Rings of Ruffles: A Sweet Spring Skirt

Are you in love with knits too, or is it just me? There’s just something so soft and comfortable and oh-sew-cute about creating “everyday adorable” outfits that your children WANT to wear. When I spied this “Rings of Ruffles” pattern from Lily Giggle, I knew that this skirt was going to be a perfect addition to my Etsy shop.

So Little Miss Sassy-frass and I spent a little bit of time outside this afternoon snapping some fun photos of this little gem. This particular skirt (size 5) is now listed, so skip on over and check it out!
