Hi there! I’m so glad that you stopped by Lovespun Studio. Grab your “go-to” drink  {latte, sweet tea, diet coke… you know the drill} and cozy in as you soak up some inspiration, encouragement and a heaping dose of JOY on the pages of this site.

Lovespun Studio was borne out of one of the most difficult seasons of my life. My husband had lost 3 jobs in 2 years owing to chronic industry-wide downsizing {Thank you, 2009 & 2010. Here’s to never seeing you again!} . As a result, we chose to sell our newly built “forever” house. We packed up the Penske and moved 870 miles across the United States to work for a national ministry. That ended in heartache too. So back we came, full-circle,  to my Hoosier Heartland of Indiana. A little battered and bruised, we held tight to our faith and trusted that the Lord had a plan and purpose for every tear.

In those moments of hopelessness, when the sun seemed to hide behind the clouds for months on end, I found a ray of sunshine when I sat down at my sewing machine. Something sparked inside my heart when I put lovely happy fabrics together. Creating encouraged joy.  And color began to cover my home as it clothed my soul. It certainly began to make my “every day adorable.”

And do you want to know a little secret? I didn’t even own a sewing machine {much less know how to thread one}  when inspiration and curiosity called. {Thank you, Craigslist!}

But I didn’t let that stop me. I just tried, messed-up, tried, messed-up, messed-up again and then went right on back to trying some more. I still do.

That’s why I decided to create Lovespun Studio. I’ve been drenched by the storms that pour rain all over your dreams. But one day the sun finally does comes back out. When it did, I realized that a new dream– a dream to create, encourage and inspire others {in happy fabric colors} was waiting at the end of my rainbow. Ahh… a perfect promise for my weary heart.

I don’t know where this Lovespun journey will lead me, but I’m ready to go.  I’d love for you to come along with me. After all, a road trip is always better with your very best friends!

Please shoot me an email any time! kirsten@lovespunstudio.com

I am a writer with a minor major fabric obsession and a background in public relations and corporate communications. My seven-year-old son and five-year-old daughter are my two spunky little munchkins. They never fail to be good for a giggle and a hug! I married my very best friend and sanity saving hero almost 10 years ago. Each and every morning I wake up thankful to live this precious life and aspire to choose a joy-filled day!

The color yellow,  90’s music and diet-vanilla-coke with pebble ice  {with a skinny straw, of course} make me happy. Add all of those elements to my sewing room, and I am one gleeful girl!

      Hi there, Marta! Thank you so much for leaving me your sweet comment! Our family has had quite the journey, but we’re thankful to have made it round that bend. It makes blogging so much fun to know that other people are sharing in your story. I hope to hear from you more soon. :)

    Hi there, Kristen! I popped over to your blog from a comment you left on Maggie Whittley’s blog a few YEARS ago! ha! I noticed you are a fellow hoosier with a creative passion so I thought I’d head over to your blog and say HELLO!! *waves* Are you in the Indianapolis area? My husband and I live over on the west side. It’s so fun when the ginormous world of bloggers suddenly becomes small. :)

    What a beautiful testimony, Kirsten. It totally blessed me! I’m really glad we got to meet each other through the unfortunate death of Bessie :) God bless you, my friend. Happy New Year!
