Yep, you read that right. In fact, we close on our new house on FRIDAY. As in, THIS Friday! Oh my!
In fact, if you don’t know a thing about me you should read all about it here. My story tells a bit about where we’ve been versus where we’re headed. It seems like we’ve been on the move constantly over the past 7 years and the reality is– we have. But now we sure hope to make this sweet little house our family home for years and years to come.
This house was built in 1952 as the hired hand’s house to a horse ranch that is next door (the neighbor’s house on the other side used to be the stable– how fun is that?!) and has oodles of 1950’s charm. Along with the charm comes a long list of things that need updating. The biggest project on our list now is to finish out the entire basement throughout the summer. Whew. When that’s done, we’ll work on figuring out what exactly to do with the teeny tiny kitchen. Even with the never-ending list of projects, I’m so thrilled about this house that I could pinch myself.
See that sun-room off to the left, that is my new studio! Yes, really!!! The view of the woods is incredible behind us and I get to enjoy it all day long as the seasons turn from spring to summer and fall to winter. Oh what sweet inspiration!
I hope that you will forgive the fact that home decor projects are undoubtedly going to hijack this blog for the foreseeable future! I’ll start snapping indoor “before” shots over the weekend. You’ll appreciate the “after’s” much more this way. Here’s to a new season for our little family– in our little house– in our perfect little corner of the world.
