I’m still trying to get into the groove of having a second blog. Sometimes I post here, sometimes I post here, but most of the time I end up not posting anywhere because I’m to busy trying to figure out where I should post what. That’s silly, right?! So enough is enough. I’m just going to stop fighting and start writing (and that wasn’t supposed to rhyme– it’s just a bonus).
So we just got back this evening from a quick trip up to Milwaukee, WI to visit my husband’s dad and his sweet wife for for a belated Christmas celebration. We went up yesterday, spent the night and turned around to come back today. It was a quick trip, but the kids had a fantastic time– and so did we!

On our way back, since we travel straight through Chicago we thought that we’d stop by Ikea in Schaumburg for a quick visit. It turned out to be our worst trip to an Ikea ever. First, Kiddieland only had one staff member and so only about 5 kids could be in the area. Meaning P and P didn’t get a chance. There were tears shed– but you’ll have to leave it up to your imaginations whether or not it was the grownups or kids who were crying! Then we needed a replacement caster for one of our desk chairs that fell off during the move back to Indiana from Texas. Guess what? Not one associate that we spoke with (customer service included) had any idea of how to help. It was maddening. And for the win, the layout of this Ikea was unlike any Ikea that we’ve ever visited and I was not impressed at all. So overall, it was an Ikea fail this go around. Bolingbrook Ikea, we’ll visit you again next time.
Last, but not least, I spent a few minutes tonight working on a secret project that’s going to be auctioned in a benefit auction for a special blog friend. I pinky-promise that I’ll share more details with you soon. I’m so super excited about this though! Here’s a sneak peek at the template. Can you guess what it’s going to be? I’ll work on it more tomorrow and hopefully be back with some more pictures in the next few days.
Have a blessed and joy-filled weekend, friends! Speaking of joy, I love this verse. I hope you do too.
“Blessed be God-he heard me praying. He proved he’s on my side; I’ve thrown my lot in with him. Now I’m jumping for joy, and shouting and singing my thanks to him.” Psalm 28:6-7 (MSG)
